My Client in the heart of the North East, is looking to add another vet to the team. Ideally placed for easy access to both Sunderland and Newcastle. This role is primarily based at a newly refurbished small animal practice in South Tyneside with one day each week spent at the South Shields branch, where you will work sole charge in a consult-only capacity.
The main site has recently moved into a purpose-built hub offering modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed facilities. The practice includes four consulting rooms, two theatres, dedicated prep areas, a dental suite, an x-ray suite and a quiet room for sensitive conversations. With digital radiography, ultrasonography, dental radiography, an in-house laboratory and the recent introduction of laparotomy spays, they are well equipped to support excellent clinical standards and a varied caseload.
They pride themselves on maintaining a warm, family-orientated atmosphere where clients and their pets feel at home. If you are seeking a place where compassion, teamwork and a welcoming culture matter just as much as clinical ability, you may find that this is the right fit for you.
While they are unable to support a new graduate at this time, vets who have recently completed their VetGDP and are confident performing neutering and lumpectomies in cats, dogs and small furries will receive strong support from the team of five vets and seven RVNs. They provide emergency care during opening hours, but there is no out-of-hours requirement in this role as clients have access to Westway Veterinary Hospital in Newcastle for overnight services.
The position is full time, ideally 37.5 hours over four days between 8.30 am and 7 pm, although part-time arrangements can be considered. It includes a 1-in-4 Saturday rota from 9 am to 3 pm. Visa sponsorship can be discussed, and the salary for a full-time role ranges from £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
They offer a generous package of benefits, including 6.6 weeks of annual leave, a CPD allowance of £1,750 with five days provided for study, and support for further qualifications. Health Shield coverage is included, offering broad support for wellbeing treatments ranging from dentistry to sports massages. RCVS membership, one additional membership subscription and VDS cover are all funded. Enhanced family-friendly leave, discounted veterinary fees, a wide range of discounts, and the Cycle to Work scheme all form part of the comprehensive benefits available to the team.
If you are looking for a role within a welcoming, forward-thinking team in a beautifully equipped practice, we would be delighted to hear from you.
