My Client situated on the border of Somerset and Wiltshire, is inviting applications from experienced veterinary professionals for the position of Lead Clinical Director. 
This role presents an opportunity to take overall responsibility for clinical standards across a large, multi-site practice, while guiding a talented team of 24 vets and over 50 nurses. The individual appointed will also contribute to the ongoing development and strategic direction of a well-established and progressive organisation.
The practice offers a collaborative and well-supported environment, with access to modern facilities including a 24-hour RCVS-accredited hospital. The position provides the scope and independence required to make a significant and lasting contribution.
They are known for an approachable culture and progressive outlook within primary care. The team includes experienced clinicians, certificate holders, and visiting specialists, ensuring a high standard of care. Out-of-hours services are delivered onsite at a dedicated small animal hospital, supported overnight by a skilled nursing team. Clinical expertise across the group spans areas such as orthopaedics, emergency and critical care, cardiology, exotics, internal medicine, imaging, and dentistry. Alongside its clinical strengths, the practice encourages a sociable atmosphere, with informal activities and events helping to maintain a strong team culture.
All sites are well-equipped with up-to-date surgical and diagnostic technology, including imaging suites, dental facilities, onsite laboratories, and access to CT scanning. Each branch is recognised as a Cat Friendly Clinic, with dedicated appointment times for feline patients. Additional support is available through regional leadership, HR, and central teams, as well as access to a wider referral network. The practice enjoys a setting that combines countryside surroundings with easy access to cities such as Bath, Bristol, and Salisbury, as well as convenient transport links to London and the south coast.
Communication within the veterinary team is prioritised through regular meetings held both virtually and in person, allowing all clinicians to contribute to clinical protocols and service development. A culture of openness, teamwork, and recognition underpins the working environment.
The ideal candidate will be a confident Clinical Director with strong clinical credentials and a track record of effective leadership. They will demonstrate the ability to manage teams, oversee financial performance, and drive key objectives, while also supporting and mentoring colleagues.
