My clients 24 hospital based in North London is currently recruiting a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its committed team within a busy and well-equipped London hospital.
Hendon Hospital is fitted with modern, state-of-the-art facilities and manages a diverse and complex caseload. This makes it particularly well suited to veterinary professionals seeking to expand their experience across both first-opinion practice and more advanced levels of care.
This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity for professional development in both medical and surgical nursing. The successful candidate will work alongside veterinary surgeons and experienced registered veterinary nurses, gaining valuable exposure within a collaborative clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS who has a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient and client care. They will be confident working as part of a team and experienced in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of how these contribute to overall practice efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills are important, along with the ability to support and positively influence colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for both patients and the wider team.
The role follows a structured working pattern of seven consecutive night shifts followed by fourteen nights off. The salary for this position ranges from £34,000 to £36,000, inclusive of a location allowance, and is dependent on experience.
Professional development is actively encouraged through an annual CPD allowance of £750 and two days of paid leave, as well as access to internal training, clinical communities, and funded certificate opportunities. Further benefits include payment of VDS and RCVS fees and a pension scheme
Within this role, the nurse is expected to deliver a consistently high standard of care to both patients and clients, Responsibilities include supporting surgical procedures and managing all associated pre- and post-operative care, conducting nurse-led appointments, and providing attentive patient monitoring. The role also involves coordinating admissions and discharges in collaboration with the veterinary team, facilitating patient transfers when required, and ensuring medications are accurately dispensed and checked.
In addition, the position requires adherence to all professional, regulatory, and operational standards, while also contributing to effective team communication and coordination to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
