Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon – West Sussex

Are you an experienced orthopedic surgeon looking for a role where your skills will be valued, your development supported, and your work-life balance respected?
This Referrals practice is a busy and highly regarded specialist orthopedic referral practice seeking a Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon to join a small expert team.
The hospital has a strong reputation for clinical excellence, supported by a collaborative team that includes an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, a residency-trained veterinary surgeon, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner, and an orthopaedic intern. With this mix of expertise, you’ll have the chance to learn, share knowledge, and grow in an environment that truly values professional development.
They are looking for candidates who hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS and are eligible to practice in the UK. The role is especially suited to RCVS Specialists in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopedics) or those who have achieved the RCVS, ECVS, or ACVS diploma in orthopedics.
This purpose-built, recently refurbished hospital is set in a tranquil rural setting and features three fully equipped operating theatres along with an on-site CT scanner. They offer the full range of advanced orthopedic procedures, from total hip replacement (THR) and TPLO to CUE surgery and arthroscopy. This is a role for someone who thrives on teamwork, shares a passion for orthopedic care, and enjoys interacting with both clients and referring veterinarians. You will also participate in a fair share of the out-of-hours rota, which is manageable, and they do not perform surgeries outside of normal hours.
They are flexible about working arrangements and welcome applications from both full-time and part-time candidates, with part-time work (two to three days per week) being of particular interest. Salary is negotiable and will reflect your experience, qualifications, and specialist credentials.
They provide an ideal location with the charm of a bustling market town combined with easy access to London, just 31 miles away, and the South Coast, including Brighton, only a short drive. It’s a great place to live, work, and enjoy life outside the clinic.
They have a comprehensive benefits package, including 6.6 weeks’ annual leave, a £3,000 CPD budget with eight days’ allowance, pension scheme, Health Shield contributions for a wide range of health and wellbeing treatments, and payment of RCVS, ECVS, VDS, and two other memberships. Additional perks include family-friendly enhanced pay, discounted veterinary fees, sick pay, and ample opportunities for career progression.
If you are a passionate orthopedic surgeon seeking a supportive, forward-thinking referral practice where your expertise will be valued and your skills developed, they would love to hear from you.
