My Client in the London area is introducing a newly created Surgical Lead Veterinary Surgeon role within its award-winning London group, offering a unique opportunity for an experienced surgeon to make a meaningful impact across multiple practices. This position is well suited to an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner, a senior surgical vet, or an orthopaedic certificate holder seeking a role that blends clinical expertise with leadership and strategic influence.
Working across three well-established surgeries in Greater London, the successful candidate will benefit from excellent transport links, with all locations easily reached from central London by public transport or car. The practices already support a strong and consistent caseload for orthopaedic and complex soft tissue surgery. There is also clear scope to further develop these services through referral growth and expansion of in-house surgical capability.
In addition to advanced surgical skills, the role requires a confident and personable clinician who can build rapport quickly, integrate smoothly into different teams, and foster trusted relationships with clients. Leadership is central to the position, with responsibility for setting high clinical standards, delivering outstanding customer care, and supporting the development of colleagues through training, mentoring, and day-to-day collaboration.
Although offered as a full-time role, flexibility can be considered for the right individual. The position will appeal to someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable working across multiple sites, and brings a high level of adaptability and confidence to their working style.
The Surgical Lead Vet will be based in modern, purpose-built surgeries designed with patient care, client experience, and colleague wellbeing in mind. Each site is equipped with advanced surgical and diagnostic facilities to support complex procedures. While the role is predominantly surgical, it also includes a limited number of consultation sessions to help build surgical caseloads and manage post-operative follow-ups. Dedicated administrative time is provided each day to ensure effective planning and case continuity.
They offer a highly competitive salary of up to £80,000, dependent on experience, alongside a comprehensive and well-rounded benefits package. This includes 25 days of annual leave, recognition payments, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, income protection, funded professional memberships, surgery discounts, and a generous CPD allowance. Colleagues also have access to wellbeing support, employee discounts, internal leadership development programmes, and the option of either an electric company car scheme or a car allowance with mileage. Temporary on-site accommodation can also be made available if needed.
This role represents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced surgeon to help shape and grow a specialist surgical service within a progressive and supportive veterinary group, offering both professional fulfilment and long-term career development.
