Our clients practice has been at the heart of the community since 1955 and although a lot has changed since then, the values of working hard to maintain an excellent reputation and a loyal client base remain. They are fortunate in having many lovely clients and patients of all shapes, sizes and breeds. They operate under Fear Free principles, meaning that the majority of their patients are happy to come and see them and they encourage socialisation visits to help nervous dogs. They are 100% small animal, but this includes some exotics and sometimes turtles and otters from Loch Lomond Sea Life Centre - always exciting.
The building is purpose built and although small, and they make the best of the space. There is a waiting room, 2 consulting rooms, another lab/nurse consulting room, kennel room, prep room and dedicated theatre. There is a lot of modern equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, new dental machine, ultrasound, K-laser, multiparameter monitor and fully equipped lab. They are RCVS GP accredited, have a Cat Friendly Silver Award and can offer acupuncture to patients.
There’s a lovely team made up of 5 vets, Head Nurse, RVN, SVN (soon to qualify), VCA, Practice Manager and receptionists. They believe friendships at work are vital to help with the job and there's a always fair bit of banter going on. They work hard but still have a lot of fun and enjoy fitting in the occasional Christmas Fuddle or Great Mckenzies Bake Off as well as raising money for charity by taking part in the Kilt Walk, Shine Walk and cake sales for Macmillan. They have held Pet First Aid classes and had stands at the Drymen Show and Lomond Shores Top Dogs Day Out. Further training and CPD is fully supported - two of the nurses are currently doing certificates in Medical Nursing and Anaesthesia. They want all the team to feel motivated and have the ability to progress in what is a fantastic career.
Do you want to be part of a small, friendly team where everyone looks out for each other and believe in having fun at work?
Do you want to play a vital part in bringing the very best professional care and compassion to patients and their owners?
Do you want to work in an environment where kindness is always the first priority?
This is a very varied role with all nurses taking an equal share of anaesthesia and surgery, recovery of patients, care of hospitalised patients, nurse consults including second vaccines, kennel cough vaccines, post op checks, weight checks, regular injections, laser treatments, canine confidence visits etc, and running tests in their well-equipped inhouse lab. There are no reception duties.
Ideally this would be a full-time position but the client can be flexible for the right candidate, so welcome applications for both full-time or part-time/job share. The normal working day is from 8:30am - 7pm and full-time is anticipated to be 4 days a week with a set day off and one earlier finish. You will be included in a share of 1:4 Saturday mornings and there is no on-call requirement as the out of hours service is provided by Vets Now.
Salary is up to £32k pa DOE.
