My Client are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their passionate and supportive team at a well-established, community-focused hospital in Lancashire. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work within a busy hospital environment, supporting both patients and clients with exceptional care.
The role involves 40 hours per week, split across a mix of early and late shifts between 8:30am and 7:30pm. You’ll also be part of the weekend rota, covering one in six full weekends. With access to a varied caseload, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and take on a fulfilling clinical challenge.
This position is particularly suited to a vet with a strong interest in hospital-based work, especially in the management of complex medical cases and inpatients. They are especially keen to hear from those with a medical certificate, significant experience in internal medicine, or those working towards further qualifications. Your expertise will help shape the development of the hospital services and raise the standard of inpatient care.
You will be joining a welcoming team led by a Partner and Practice Manager, The wider hospital team includes six vets, seven day RVNs, three night RVNs, four client care assistants and one veterinary care assistant. Together they are proud of a collaborative approach and dedication to providing the best possible outcomes for patients and clients.
As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will deliver outstanding clinical care through consultations and procedures, prepare accurate treatment and care plans, and ensure compliance with the highest professional standards. You will provide clients with clear communication and compassionate updates, while also mentoring your colleagues, sharing best practice and contributing to a progressive clinical culture. Handover of patients, including those requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care, will also form an important part of your role.
To thrive in this role, you will need to be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience in delivering excellent patient and client care. You should be a strong team player with leadership skills, confident in guiding nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, and capable of contributing to efficient and effective clinical performance.
