Our client has a group of practices in the Bristol area who are looking for a Small Animal Vet to join their team.
The team at the hospital is very focused on coaching and development and they have several vets with further training in this area. The client encourages personal development (including funding certificates where desired) and are happy to spend time training their vets in hospital work, ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, or whatever interests you. They encourage a collaborative working culture where they share ideas and support each other. Several of the vets have Certificates in medicine and surgery, whilst others are currently working towards them. They enjoy supporting new graduates and have EMS students on a regular basis enabling them to give back to the veterinary community. They have made several changes to ensure vets are able to take lunch breaks and leave on time; these include employing twilight vets, removing the last consult of the day, structuring rotas to allow for admin time and driving a culture that challenges, rather than champions, staying beyond your finish time.
This tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy and more. They pride themselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient-appropriate, compassionate service for thier clients. You would be joining a well-established team of 10 other Veterinary Surgeons, a strong, experienced nursing team and a fantastic support team. As part of the team, you will benefit from access to their referral department who offer services in Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Imaging, Neurology and Dentistry. They also have their own dedicated and experienced OOH team providing continuity for patients.
Ideally they are looking for someone with a passion and drive for consulting as you will see everything from sick pet emergencies as well as all your routine general practice appointments seen at the hospital. You should feel confident in dealing with routine and more complex presentations, with the ability to build client rapport to build a regular caseload. You will become part of a large, collaborative team in a hospital environment. This is a full time role and will include weekends on a rota.
