Our client has a two-site, small animal practice in the heart of Monmouthshire and a branch surgery within a ten-minute drive away. They are now looking for an experienced vet to join the team.

The practice is set a stone throw away from Monmouthshire river which the staff and their dogs enjoy at lunchtimes. They are also a five-minute walk into Usk Town and situated within the Brecon Beacons. The area offers an abundance for you to do in your downtime away from work. Cardiff and Bristol are both within a 45-minute drive.  The clinic has their own laboratory for in house use, DR X-ray machine with SignalPet Use, Dental x-ray and separate Dental theatre along with prep rooms and main Theatre, Ultrasound machine, endoscopy and Walk In Kennels.

You will be joining a team of 6 veterinary surgeons, 10 nurses and 9 receptionists and practice manager. They pride themselves on their longstanding team and are committed to excellent clinical care and extremely high standards, with a silver level cat friendly status from the ISFM and RCVS PSS General Practice accreditation in the site.

The ideal candidate will be confident, friendly and a team player. The vets work across the main surgery and branches on a shared rota, with a mix of consulting, surgical and inpatient work. They have certificate holders in both small animal medicine and surgery, allowing them to not only diagnose and treat the majority of cases in-house, but also provide support to other team members in their career progression.

Typically, this full-time position is 40 per week, working between the hours of 8.30am and 7pm, four days a week. Weekends are shared between 6 veterinary surgeons leaving you to share a 1 in 3 rota. The client is open to part time applications.  Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with the confidence of sole charge would be beneficial but not essential. Ideally they would love for the new team member to be confident, friendly and passionate about teamwork.
