Our client has a group of 3 branches, one main hub with two smaller surgeries, in the Eastbourne area.  They are now looking for a Small Animal Vet as one of their team is relocating to a different area.

There is a fully equipped theatre, kennels for inpatients, digital X ray and dental X ray machines. Diagnostic imaging is also covered with an ultrasound scanner equipped with cardio and abdominal probes and there is a fully equipped laboratory, part for blood diagnostics.

The clinics unique selling point is quality, they focus on delivering a high-quality service, with an individual approach. They are located next to the English Channel with beautiful beach walk just 5 minutes from practice. 10 minutes by car from them is Beachy head, beautiful cliffs with amazing views and do not forget about natural treasure North Downs with more amazing hikes available to you. The clinic is in a prime location for countryside enthusiasts but also those who love the city, with excellent and quick transport links to London.

There are currently 5 experienced Veterinary Surgeons and 1 Graduate Veterinary Surgeon, 8 Nurses and 8 Support Team Members. There is a real family ethos here, they are a friendly and approachable team. They pride themselves on offering continuous support and encouragement, especially to new team members transitioning into their new role. They have regular social engagements both during and out of the working days with plenty of opportunity to have some downtime together as a team.  They strongly encourage and support you pursuing any specific interests you may have and aim to allow for a real enhancement of your abilities and skill set as a Vet.

To give you an overview of a typical day, you will start the morning consults at 09:00 - the appointments can be very varied ranging from admitting animals that are coming in for surgery or investigations, to routine appointments like Vaccinations or if animals are unwell. After the morning consults, the Vet will support the Nurses to prepare the animals that are in for surgical procedures and complete the surgery. After lunch, the afternoons and evenings will be back to consulting and discharging the surgical patients and any inpatients well enough to go home. During the afternoon the Vet will have free time to phone clients and complete paperwork. They aim for a varied working with excellent structure allowing a proactive and stimulating working day. 

Typically, you will work a 4-day week rota with 1:4 weekends and no on call or OOH. The working pattern however is flexible and they are absolutely open to discussing what works for you.

Salary for the role is up to £60,000 per annum depending on experience, with a welcome bonus of up to £1,000 and there is an additional relocation support and financial aid of up to £2,500.
