Full or Part Small Animal Vet near Crewe

Location Crewe
Discipline: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Contact name: Julie Powell

Contact email: julie@brightleaf.co.uk
Job ref: 7394

Our client’s practice has been family run since 2004, with a lovely, friendly, close-knit team of 3 reception ladies, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant and 6 Veterinary Surgeons. They are now looking for a Full Time Vet to join the team.

There are 3 certificate holders in the practice and so clinical work is performed to a high standard and they actively encourage CPD to continue this. The team often enjoy ‘pub Friday’ which in summer re-locates to the cricket club so they can all enjoy the early evening sun.  The clinic is based in a very rural but bustling village with brilliant train links being only 10 minutes from Crewe station, which means less than 2 hours to London and 3 hours 30 to Edinburgh. There is a very loyal and pleasant client base with many clients having been with the clinic for nearly 20 years. They have all the equipment you would expect a surgery certificate holder and a medicine certificate holder to want and probably a few more besides.

The client is very open to your interests and development so if you would rather do a consult only role, then they have a medicine certificate holder to support you and if you wish to further your surgical skills then one of the surgeons is an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery so can help you gain the skills and cases need for a certificate.

The role is flexible for the right candidate but ideally someone who is willing to work between 20 and 40 hours per week. On call is normally a 1 in 4 rota but the weekend on call consists of Saturday morning consultations until 12pm and then in-patient care only (if there are any), weeknight on-call is again in-patient only care as VetsNow cover the emergency work. Accommodation is available if needed.  The salary for the role is up to £65,000 depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and friendly individual who can practice veterinary medicine to a high standard. You should have good communication skills.
