We are delighted to advertise a new Veterinary Surgeon vacancy to join our clients friendly, RCVS-accredited practices set within the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside. This is an opportunity to become part of a supportive team known for its warm atmosphere, great sense of humour, and genuine commitment to work–life balance. Alongside a competitive salary and excellent company perks, they also offer complimentary accommodation for your first three months—and you’ll never be short of tea, coffee, or snacks
Across three thriving sites—March, Wisbech and Peterborough—they provide outstanding care to every patient who walks through the doors. A team of eleven vets is supported by a full nursing and reception team, they collaborate closely with visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology and ophthalmology, and several of the vets in practice have special interests in advanced surgery and ophthalmology, creating a dynamic and clinically engaging environment. They work in a sociable, communicative, and collaborative setting where every voice is valued. Clinical discussion is encouraged, professional development is supported, and they enjoy getting involved in the local community through open days and charity events.
They are looking for a confident vet who is comfortable with sole charge and capable across both medical and surgical cases. You will spend most of your time at the Wisbech and Peterborough branches, with occasional work at the March practice. Whether you are seeking full-time or part-time hours, between 20 and 40.5 per week, they can offer flexible working arrangements. The role includes 1-in-4 Saturday mornings, with no out-of-hours or on-call duties. Salaries are available up to £70,000 depending on experience and skill set.
The area itself offers plenty to enjoy. Wisbech, often known as the Capital of the Fens, is rich in heritage, graceful architecture, and award-winning parks and gardens. Peterborough sits just twenty miles away, offering excellent transport links both to London and to the beautiful Norfolk coastline.
They offer a comprehensive range of benefits, including 6.6 weeks of paid holiday, an annual CPD budget of £1,750, free accommodation for the first six months, and Health Shield cover supporting everything from dentistry to sports massage. Memberships for the RCVS and two additional professional subscriptions are included, along with VDS cover, enhanced parental pay, discounted veterinary fees, company sick pay, CPD and training support, annual salary reviews and a strong focus on wellbeing and career progression all form part of their commitment to the team.
If you’re ready to join a practice that values both clinical excellence and personal wellbeing, we would love to hear from you.
