Are you a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon looking to grow your career in a supportive, well-equipped environment while still enjoying a balanced lifestyle? This hospital close to Leeds, has a fantastic opportunity that offers variety, development, and an excellent work-life balance.
This role is based on a four-day working week with just one in four weekends, followed by an extra day off, and absolutely no out-of-hours commitments. Offering a salary of up to £60,000 per annum, depending on your experience.
They are a Tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital with great access to the vibrant city centre, the stunning Yorkshire countryside, and destinations like the Peak District and York within an hour’s reach. Providing a high-standard primary care and mid-tier referral hospital, supported by five satellite clinics, and the mission is centred on clinical excellence, team development, and compassionate patient care.
The facilities include a full imaging suite with X-ray, multiple ultrasound scanners, onsite CT, and access to MRI. With four theatres supported by a dedicated surgical nursing team and certificate-holding vets, a dental suite complete with dental X-ray, and advanced diagnostics including rigid and flexible endoscopy, laparoscopy, and an onsite laboratory staffed by skilled technicians. For in-patients, they provide separate dog, cat, exotic, and long-stay wards, along with an ICU unit and tailored consultation rooms for cats and dogs to reduce stress.
You’ll be joining a passionate, talented, and friendly team of professionals who work collaboratively and value mentoring, sharing knowledge, and looking out for one another. The culture is open, positive, and supportive — caring about each other as much as they do our patients.
In this role, you’ll be confident in managing a broad caseload that ranges from routine check-ups to more complex diagnostics and treatment planning. You’ll perform surgeries with skill and care, interpret diagnostics confidently, and manage your cases through from initial consult to outcome. They are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, stays calm in a busy environment, and values the client relationship as much as clinical outcomes.
They offer a range of benefits including five weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays and birthday leave, RCVS and VDS fees paid, an employer contribution pension scheme, life assurance, relocation support, enhanced family leave, and access to an electric car salary sacrifice scheme. You’ll also benefit from extensive internal CPD and funded external CPD to keep you learning and progressing in your career.
They are committed to supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of all associates. A network of trained Mental Health First Aiders and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme ensure that help and support are always available.
