My lovely independent client in Norfolk is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its dedicated night team. This role offers an excellent work–life balance with a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota and is based within a friendly, family-run independent practice that is currently expanding its overnight service.
The successful candidate will work night shifts from 6:30 pm to 8:30 am, providing out-of-hours care exclusively for the practice’s own clients. The position focuses primarily on delivering high standards of inpatient care while also assisting with any medical or surgical emergencies that occur overnight. Night nurses are considered an essential and valued part of the team, so the practice is looking for someone who is approachable, supportive, and confident working independently while still contributing positively to the wider team environment.
They are proud of offering a welcoming and supportive workplace where exceptional patient and client care remain central to everything the team does. The purpose-built practice is well equipped, featuring separate wards for cats, dogs and exotic pets, as well as a comprehensive diagnostic suite that includes digital X-ray, endoscopy, on-site CT, ultrasound, ECG and an in-house laboratory. The clinical team also includes several veterinary surgeons and nurses who hold advanced certificates, allowing the practice to perform a wide range of medical and surgical procedures in-house.
The practice treats both small animals and exotic species. While previous experience with exotics would be beneficial, it is not essential, as training and support can be provided.
This opportunity would suit an RVN who approaches patient and client care with compassion and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently during night shifts, able to use their initiative during quieter periods, and keen to contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
In return, they offer a highly attractive rota providing an excellent work–life balance, along with the opportunity to develop skills in emergency and exotic nursing within a modern, well-equipped practice. Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged and funded, including support for certificates. The salary for the role ranges from £30,000 to £34,000, depending on experience.
