Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Beautiful Cornwall Location | Up to £60,000 DOE
If you're an experienced Small Animal Vet looking to work with a welcoming, forward-thinking team in one of the UK’s most stunning locations, this could be your next adventure. Our well-established clients RCVS-accredited practice in East Cornwall is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join us them a permanent basis.
For over 65 years, they’ve provided outstanding care to pets and farm animals across Devon and Cornwall, and are proud of the strong reputation they have built in the community. The practice spans three small animal branches and two farm branches, with most of the small animal services centered at the Callington site.
You’ll be joining a team of 8 experienced vets, supported by a fantastic group of qualified nurses and friendly receptionists. Whether you’re a surgical enthusiast, medicine aficionado, or somewhere in between, you’ll find a place here to develop your interests. They already have team members holding or working towards certificates in medicine, imaging, and dentistry, and are keen to support new areas of clinical interest.
This is a full-time position working 4 to 4.5 days per week, including Fridays, with Saturdays on a shared rota. Occasional inpatient care OOH is required, but the rota is designed to keep work/life balance at the forefront. The role involves the full range of small animal duties — from consults and routine ops to more involved case workups. You’ll need to be confident working independently and enjoy mentoring less experienced colleagues.
What they are looking for is simple: someone who thrives in a team, brings positivity to their work, communicates well with both clients and colleagues, and is motivated to deliver great care with compassion.
On offer:
• Competitive salary between £44,000–£60,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
• 6.6 weeks of paid holiday, including bank holidays
• £1,750 CPD allowance per annum, plus certificate support
• Paid RCVS fees and two additional memberships
• VDS cover

• Enhanced parental leave options
• Company sick pay
• Annual pay reviews and structured progression opportunities
• Discounts on veterinary services
• Perks and cashback via MyPerks portal
• Paid membership to St Mellion Health Club, Spa & Golf Course

From the charming fishing town of Looe to the rolling hills of Dartmoor and the endless coastline for surfing, sailing or just unwinding – the lifestyle here is second to none.
