This Independent practice in Cardiff is a growing, independent small animal practice based just outside Cardiff city centre. The practice is seeking enthusiastic and capable Veterinary Surgeons to join its friendly and supportive team. This full-time role offers a varied and rewarding caseload, combining routine first-opinion consultations with both routine and non-routine surgical procedures, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high-quality first-opinion care, including small animal consultations, medical case management and a range of surgical procedures. There will also be involvement in emergency surgery when required. The role offers the opportunity to work as part of a close-knit and supportive team, where collaboration and professional development are actively encouraged. A fair share of weekends forms part of the rota.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine and be registered with the RCVS. Strong routine small animal medical and surgical skills are essential, with confidence in emergency surgery considered advantageous. Applicants should currently reside in England or Wales or be willing to relocate.
In return, They offer a competitive salary of £45,000 to £65,000 per year, dependent on experience, along with a bonus scheme. The benefits package includes UK visa sponsorship where required, payment of RCVS and VDS fees, five days of paid CPD leave and a CPD allowance with certificate support encouraged. Annual leave totals 29 days, with an additional birthday leave day. Further benefits include gym membership, free uniform, free on-site parking, discounted treatment for staff pets and participation in a UK pension scheme with a 5% employee and 3% employer contribution. The role also includes paid lunch breaks and the option of a four-day working week.
