Veterinary Hospital, North London
Rota: Four-day working week (42 hours), with a 1:6 weekend rota
My Client is recruiting a Day Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its established 24-hour hospital in North London. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a nurse seeking a varied, hands-on position within a supportive hospital setting that actively encourages clinical development and progression.
The Day RVN will play a central role within the hospital’s Emergency and Critical Care service, working as part of the ECC team during daytime hours. The position involves caring for urgent and critical patients and offers regular rotation through emergency and inpatient care, theatre, nurse consultations and nurse-led Schedule 3 procedures. This practice functions as a referral-level hospital, managing both internal and external referrals. The site is spread across four floors and is comprehensively equipped, including a dedicated ICU, separate dog and cat wards, an on-site laboratory and a fully equipped theatre suite. The hospital is proud to be accredited as a Dog Friendly Clinic through Dogs Trust and BVBA and holds ISFM Gold Cat Friendly status, reinforcing its commitment to patient-focused care. This role would suit a Tier 2 or Tier 3 Registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest in emergency, critical care and inpatient nursing. The ideal candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced hospital environment, demonstrate strong communication skills and take a collaborative approach to teamwork, while remaining motivated to continue developing clinically and supporting colleagues.
The hospital offers structured career pathways, robust clinical governance and an environment where nurses are encouraged to work to the full scope of their skills. The nursing team benefits from close collaboration between day and night teams, clear handovers and a culture that prioritises learning, wellbeing and professional growth.
In return, the role offers a four-day working week and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes five weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional birthday leave day, payment of RCVS and VDS fees, fully funded external CPD Additional benefits include clear career progression, a competitive salary aligned with experience, staff discounts including gym membership, life assurance, enhanced sickness pay and enhanced equal family leave. Nurses also have access to an electric car salary sacrifice scheme, employer pension contributions and a wide-ranging wellbeing programme that includes an employee assistance service, mental health first aiders, eyecare vouchers, free annual flu vaccinations, a cycle-to-work scheme and a recruitment referral reward.
