An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join this 24-hour hospital in Kensington, one of London’s most vibrant and well-connected locations. This is a busy, well-established hospital managing a varied and stimulating caseload, ranging from routine consultations through to complex emergency and critical care cases. The role offers genuine clinical variety and the chance to work at a high standard within a progressive environment.
This position is particularly well suited to a confident vet with at least five years’ experience who is ready to take full ownership of cases. You will be actively involved in diagnostics, inpatient management, and client communication, supported by a highly skilled nursing team and collaborative veterinary colleagues. The hospital is well equipped with modern facilities, including CT, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and orthopaedics, allowing you to practise medicine to a high level. While not essential, there is also occasional exposure to exotic cases for those who enjoy added variety.
The role provides the professional autonomy and clinical freedom that experienced vets value, whether your interests lie in front-of-house consulting, abdominal imaging, or emergency and critical care work. This is a workplace that encourages development, trusts clinical judgement, and supports vets who want to continue growing their skills while making a meaningful impact.
The position is full-time, working 40 hours per week with a 1 in 6 weekend rota. In return, a comprehensive benefits package is offered, including private medical insurance and a health cash plan from day one, providing access to dental, physiotherapy, optical services, and a 24/7 private GP. Additional benefits include life assurance at three times salary, access to confidential counselling services, and generous annual leave of five weeks plus bank holidays, increasing to six weeks with length of service, along with an extra paid “Day for You.”
Support for professional development is a key part of the role, with a £1,500 annual CPD allowance, three paid CPD days, access to internal CPD and clinical communities, and funded certificate opportunities. Professional fees for VDS, RCVS, and BVA are covered, and long-term benefits include a sabbatical based on service length, pension scheme. Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa and relocation support are also available where required.
For vets seeking a role with substance, autonomy, and long-term growth potential, this is more than just a career move—it is a chance to truly make a difference.
