My client in Leicester is on the lookout for a dedicated and well-rounded GP vet to join a friendly, forward-thinking team. If you’re passionate about patient care and thrive in a collaborative environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
This first-opinion small animal practice is based In Leicester and is RCVS-accredited. The team is a close-knit mix of 3 vets, 4 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 kennel assistant, 4 receptionists, and an RVN practice manager — all committed to delivering excellent care with warmth and professionalism.
You’ll be joining a practice where teamwork is everything. They support each other, share ideas, and never leave anyone to face a challenge alone. The experienced vets and partners are always available for case discussions, and actively encourage clinical development and special interests.
The role offers a great balance of consulting and surgical time, with no out-of-hours work. Consultations are typically 15 minutes, with longer slots for more complex cases and euthanasia. Surgical procedures range from routine neutering and dentals to more advanced operations like splenectomies and foreign body removals, depending on your experience and interests. You’ll also be involved in managing in-patients, supported by a skilled nursing team who help ensure smooth, efficient care throughout the day.
The facilities are modern and well-equipped, and they are always investing in new tools to support the clinical work. You’ll have access to spacious consult rooms, in-house Idexx analysers, digital and dental x-rays, a cryotherapy unit, diathermy with monopolar and bipolar capabilities, a microscope, a full range of surgical kits, and a brand-new ultrasound machine.
They offer a competitive salary between £38,000 and £65,000 depending on experience and rota, along with 224 hours of annual leave (rising to 264 hours after two years). Your RCVS and VDS fees are covered, and they provide CPD funding and allocated days to support your growth. You’ll also benefit from a pension scheme, colleague discounts and a genuinely supportive culture that values job satisfaction — and yes, they do enjoy the occasional pizza lunch too.
If you’re interested in joining a team that’s passionate, welcoming, and always striving to do better, they’d love to hear from you. Go visit the practice, meet the team, and see what makes this such a great place to work. Let’s talk.
