Veterinary Surgeon – Borough of Southwark, Greater London
Permanent | Full Time
My client has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a team run by a lovely partner. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive and collaborative environment where patient care, client service, and clinical excellence are always the top priorities.
You will be working alongside an experienced Lead Vet, one RVN, one SVN, two VCAs and a welcoming client care team. With access to modern equipment and a varied caseload, you’ll be able to develop your skills while maintaining a strong work-life balance. The role is designed to offer flexibility, with a four-day working week that includes Wednesdays off, and no Sunday shifts. You will work one in three Saturdays.
This clinic is undergoing a full refurbishment, giving you the chance to contribute to the development of a modern, fully equipped practice. Facilities include X-ray, ultrasound, dental services and an in-house lab, and there are opportunities to pursue further training, including certificate study if desired.
They are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with two to three years’ post-qualification experience who is confident with both consultations and routine surgery, and comfortable taking sole charge on Saturdays. Experience with ultrasound, particularly AFAST or TFAST, would be a significant advantage. Just as important, however, is your approach—you’ll be a friendly, team-oriented professional who enjoys working collaboratively and building strong relationships with colleagues.
You will benefit from private medical insurance, a health cash plan covering services such as dental, physiotherapy and optical care, and access to a 24/7 private GP service. You will also have life assurance at three times your salary and access to professional counselling services whenever you might need support. Annual leave starts at five weeks plus bank holidays, rising to six weeks with length of service, and you will also receive an additional paid “Day for You.” Clinical CPD is fully supported, with £1,500 per year and three days’ paid leave, as well as funded opportunities for certificates and full coverage of VDS, RCVS and BVA fees. Further benefits include a pension scheme, the option of a sabbatical, interest-free season ticket loans, the cycle-to-work scheme, For candidates requiring relocation or visa sponsorship, full support is available.
This position is more than just a job—it is an opportunity to join a close-knit and supportive team at a pivotal moment in the growth and development of our Dulwich practice.
