Veterinary Surgeon –Veterinary Hospital, Kettering
Northamptonshire | Full or Part-Time | No OOH
An exciting opportunity has opened for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a brand-new, purpose-built 24-hour hospital in the heart of Northamptonshire.
Located in the historic market town of Kettering, this Veterinary Hospital offers a modern, well-equipped and supportive environment, purpose-designed by vets to meet the demands of a busy and growing caseload. The town itself is full of character, offering a vibrant centre, excellent schools, and outstanding transport links — with London or Birmingham just under an hour away by train. Stunning countryside and parks are also right on your doorstep.
The new hospital is designed to deliver the highest standards of care and an excellent working environment for the team. Facilities include advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment such as CT, ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, laparoscopy, piped gas, and a sterile theatre. They’ve also invested in creating outstanding staff welfare spaces, ensuring you have a comfortable and supportive place to work.
With a history stretching back to the 1960s, this practice has grown into a respected local group, now encompassing six branch surgeries and a central hospital. The team of over 80 includes skilled vets, dedicated nurses, and experienced support staff — many of whom have progressed and grown within the practice. They pride themselves on being a friendly, collaborative team where people and pets come first.
They’re looking for a veterinary surgeon who has completed their VetGDP and is confident in a hospital setting. Whether you’re interested in full-time or part-time work, they can tailor the role to suit your lifestyle. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities, allowing you to enjoy a strong work-life balance.
In return, you’ll benefit from a generous holiday allowance (6.6 weeks including bank holidays), a £1,750 CPD budget, paid RCVS and two additional memberships, Health Shield cover, enhanced family leave, and company sick pay. You'll also enjoy discounts on veterinary fees. Most importantly, they are committed to your development, with a genuine focus on in-house training and long-term career growth.
Whether you're looking to build your clinical skills, work in a supportive hospital environment, or take the next step in your veterinary career — we’d love to hear from you.
