This lovely practice is seeking an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join the established team at its Worthing practice on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable GP Vet looking to develop within a supportive and well-equipped coastal environment.
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team of four veterinary surgeons, including a highly skilled surgeon and a certificate-holding Lead Vet, alongside a new graduate, six experienced nurses, two student nurses and a welcoming front-of-house team. The practice fosters a culture of mentorship and clinical excellence, offering genuine scope to enhance both surgical and medical skills. The varied caseload provides breadth and professional stimulation.
Facilities at the practice include two consultation rooms, a dedicated theatre, dental suite, digital x-ray and a comfortable staff area with garden space, creating a pleasant and practical working environment.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The role does not require out-of-hours or bank holiday work and involves just one in four Saturday mornings, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
In return, they offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support professional growth, wellbeing and lifestyle. Colleagues benefit from private medical insurance, a health cash plan, 24/7 counselling support and life assurance at three times salary. Annual leave starts at five weeks plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
Professional development is actively encouraged, with a £1,500 CPD allowance and three days’ paid CPD leave each year. Vets have access to clinical communities, internal CPD opportunities, 24-hour hospital support, funded certificates and structured career pathways. Professional fees, including RCVS, VDS and BVA memberships, are covered. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available where required, and sabbatical options are offered based on length of service.
This opportunity would suit a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon comfortable with sole charge and motivated to thrive within a friendly, progressive coastal practice.
