Our client has a great opportunity for an experienced Vet to join them as a hospital vet near Brighton.
You will be a key member of the veterinary practice team, comfortable with all aspects of veterinary work, including consulting, surgery, diagnostic imaging (xrays, ultrasound +/- CT scan) and managing medical cases independently. You will be an experienced and approachable team player who demonstrates excellent leadership skills and is keen to mentor and help less experienced vets and support the team. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels, and be able to deliver outstanding client service, with a good understanding of contextualised care. You should also demonstrate an active interest and willingness to help develop and drive the business forward.
The caseload will be varied, with both emergency and advanced medical cases referred to them from their five branch practices and local practices that they support, hence you should be able to undertake more technically challenging cases and demonstrate a significant depth & breadth of clinical knowledge. Holding a certificate or working towards one would be beneficial for this role.
This is a full time role for 40 hours per week over 4 days, 1 weekend in 5 and Monday off in lieu and second on-call rota (1 in 15 weeks). Salary is £60 - £65k pa DOE.
The client has been providing outstanding care to the region’s pets for 45 years and the fantastic team of passionate professionals is dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine. They have a large, purpose-built central Brighton hospital, plus 5 fully equipped branch practices and cover OOH for multiple other practices in the Brighton area. The hospital has a range of high-tech equipment including CT scan, ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. There are dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation, and day procedure wards, with a fantastic nurse and support team to work alongside. The team has multiple certificate holders and staff members with a huge range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. They run a fully staffed out-of-hours team alongside the day team at the hospital. They are committed to continuing the further development of team members, with ample opportunity for learning and development through dedicated in-house and external CPD.
