If you thrive in a dynamic hospital setting and are driven by a passion for delivering outstanding patient care, My client in Sussex would love to hear from you. This 24-Hour Hospital is offering a permanent full-time position for a skilled and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join an exceptional team.
The hospital sits within beautiful woodland and countryside, creating a calm and inspiring place to work. Despite its peaceful surroundings, the location offers easy access to the South Downs National Park, strong transport connections and a selection of charming Sussex villages.
As a member of this nursing team, you will join a supportive, highly capable group of professionals committed to providing the very best standards of care to both patients and clients. This role gives you the opportunity to utilise and expand your clinical expertise, supported by advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment such as digital and dental radiography, multiparameter monitoring systems, endoscopy and bronchoscopy, an extensive in-house laboratory, CT imaging and two fully equipped theatres.
The position is full-time at 40 hours per week and includes participation in the weekend rota. They are looking for an RVN with at least two years of post-qualification experience, strong clinical knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for patient care, teamwork and continual development.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring clients receive excellent support and communication. You will assist vets during procedures, run your own nurse appointments, oversee patient monitoring and care, manage admissions and discharges, and ensure that all records remain accurate and up to date. Your responsibilities will also include preparing patients for surgery, providing daily care such as walking and feeding, arranging any out-of-hours transfers, and handling the dispensing and checking of medication under veterinary guidance.
Daily communication is essential, and you will contribute to team briefings and co-ordinate activity to ensure the smooth running of the hospital. Administrative duties will involve taking samples and managing laboratory submissions, maintaining effective stock control, escalating concerns when needed, and ensuring clinical areas are fully prepared for upcoming procedures.
To succeed in this role, you must be an RCVS-registered nurse who enjoys working collaboratively, understands the value of nurse consultations and demonstrates a consistent commitment to exceptional client care. Confidence in coaching and guiding colleagues to help them perform at their best is also important.
