An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to take on the role of Lead Vet at a well-established practice in the borough of Haringay. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for someone ready to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibility, helping to guide a talented team while shaping the future of a thriving community clinic.
As Lead Vet, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of veterinary care for both patients and clients. You will provide clinical leadership, mentoring your colleagues, and maintaining compliance with all operational, regulatory, and professional standards. Working closely with the Practice Manager, you will also contribute to the continued growth and commercial success of the clinic, making this role a perfect balance between clinical excellence and strategic management.
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with a few years of UK experience who is confident in surgery, diagnostics, and case management. You will have the autonomy to make clinical decisions, set standards of care, and inspire your team to deliver outstanding results. You’ll have access to leadership support, advanced hospital facilities, and opportunities for professional development, including certificate funding.
This purpose-built practice sits at the heart of the local community and is equipped with modern facilities, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, a dedicated dental suite, and an in-house laboratory. You’ll work with a loyal and supportive client base, handling a diverse caseload that will keep your clinical skills sharp. The team is small but experienced, consisting of skilled nurses and receptionists who are passionate about providing the very best care to every patient.
This role is offered on a four-day working week from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break and participation in the weekend rota, which operates on a one-in-six full weekend basis.
They are looking for a confident communicator who leads by example, enjoys mentoring others, and takes pride in delivering gold-standard veterinary care. If you are ready to step into a role that combines leadership, clinical expertise, and the opportunity to make a real impact within a respected London practice, they would love to hear from you.
In return, they offer a comprehensive rewards and benefits package that includes private medical insurance and a health cash plan from your first day, providing cover for dental, optical, and physiotherapy treatments, alongside access to a 24-hour private GP service. Life assurance is provided at three times your annual salary, and you will also have access to confidential counselling support whenever you need it.
You will benefit from a bonus scheme which offers the potential to earn additional pay based on performance. Annual leave starts at five weeks plus bank holidays and increases to six weeks with length of service, alongside an extra paid “Day for You” each year to spend as you wish. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with £1,500 allocated annually for CPD plus three days of paid study leave. Internal learning and clinical community sessions are also available, along with full funding for professional certificates.
All professional memberships, including VDS, RCVS, and BVA, are covered. Other benefits include a company pension, sabbatical opportunities, and full support for Certificates of Sponsorship for Tier 2 (General) Visa applicants, including relocation assistance.
If you’re ready to lead with purpose and shape the next chapter of this lovely small practice, I’d be delighted to speak with you.
