An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon to step into a leadership role and shape the future of a dedicated team in Buckinghamshire. They are looking for a vet with excellent surgical skills, a passion for clinical excellence, and a genuine desire to mentor others and contribute to the continued success and growth of the practice.
This full-time position offers a four-day working week, totaling 40 hours, with participation in a one-in-five full weekend rota. It’s the perfect role for a veterinary professional ready to advance their career and take on greater responsibility within a supportive, progressive environment.
You’ll work alongside three experienced vets and four skilled registered veterinary nurses who share a strong sense of teamwork and commitment to providing exceptional care. As Lead Vet, you’ll have the opportunity to take the surgical lead while fostering collaboration, supporting colleagues, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical and client care.
The modern, well-equipped clinic provides an outstanding environment for both professional growth and patient care. Facilities include three operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and an in-house laboratory. They also have separate cat and dog wards and surgical areas, as well as on-site boarding kennels, a cattery, and a grooming parlour. The practice enjoys a loyal client base that values personal, community-focused approach, creating a truly rewarding place to work.
They offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and career development. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll be eligible for a bonus Scheme, which offers the potential to earn extra on top of your salary. Private medical insurance and a health cash plan, including cover for dental, physiotherapy, and optical care, are provided from your first day, along with access to a 24-hour private GP service and confidential counselling support whenever you need it. Life assurance at three times your annual salary is also included.
Your holiday entitlement starts at five weeks plus bank holidays and increases with service, reaching six weeks in total. Professional development is actively encouraged, with £1,500 of funded CPD per year, three days of paid study leave, internal training opportunities, and access to Clinical Communities. Certificate study is supported and funded, and they cover all professional fees including VDS, RCVS, and BVA memberships.
For eligible candidates, They also provide full support for Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa, as well as relocation assistance.
