Role Overview
As a Lead Education Nurse, you play a crucial role in ensuring high clinical standards and effective patient management, directly contributing to the practice’s profitability and growth. You'll work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to identify and address training needs within the nursing team, ensuring the team’s education is managed effectively. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help maintain a happy, efficient work environment while providing outstanding care to patients and clients.
Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with the CNM to support learning, development, and CPD for the nursing team.
•    Develop and use a skills matrix to highlight training gaps.
•    Oversee centrally delivered and funded CPD, managing requests for external courses.
•    Utilize support from the VN Central Professional Development Team for CPD provision and career progression advice.
•    Ensure new nurses complete their induction and support SVNs/PCAs with Training Agreements.
•    Manage Training Practice (TP) approval, maintenance, and audits.
•    Maintain knowledge of RCVS Day One Skills and Competencies and Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Nurses.
•    Ensure utilization of college and university placements to meet business needs.
•    Support eligible students in accessing apprenticeship funding.
•    Manage and support SVNs and Clinical Supervisors/Mentors, ensuring they are appropriately trained and supported.
Qualifications
•    Registered Veterinary Nurse with ideally two years post-qualification experience.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Highly organized and capable of working autonomously in a small but growing practice.
