Join a supportive, experienced team working across two thriving practices.
They are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and experienced team, working across both their Peterborough practices. At the heart of everything they do is genuine care — for patients, clients, and for each other. They take pride in a strong team spirit, where collaboration and compassion underpin the high standard of care they deliver every day.
Both locations provide free parking, easy accessibility for clients, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects a commitment to excellent service.
Peterborough itself offers the perfect blend of vibrant city life and beautiful countryside. With a direct train to London in under an hour, it is well-connected yet remains affordable. The city is full of charm, from its historic cathedral and bustling independent food scene to the scenic spaces of Ferry Meadows. Whether you enjoy an active social life or peaceful walks in nature, Peterborough provides a balanced lifestyle where you can thrive both personally and professionally.
You’ll be joining a talented and well-rounded team of seven vets, six registered nurses, three student nurses, and a dedicated administrative support team. Among the vets are colleagues holding certificates in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, with another currently pursuing a Certificate in Ultrasonography. Their services include acupuncture, physiotherapy and BOAS surgery, while the nurses bring advanced skills in consulting, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, and physiotherapy. They believe in continuous development, shared learning, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported to do their best work.
They’d love to hear from a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS, ideally with at least a year’s experience in small animal practice. Confidence in routine consultations and surgery would be beneficial, although they are equally happy to consider vets with a particular interest, whether surgical or consult-only. The role can be full or part-time depending on your preference. A full-time position typically involves four longer days each week with participation in our shared weekend rota, which includes one in eight full weekends and one in six half weekends. Part-time colleagues would also take part in the weekend rotation. There are no out-of-hours duties, and bank holidays are shared fairly among the team. They are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive and collaborative approach, and a genuine passion for animal welfare and client care.
In return for your commitment, They offer a competitive salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience and working pattern. You’ll also receive a generous CPD allowance, with funding available for certificates, 5.6 weeks of annual leave, and an additional day off to celebrate your birthday. They are proud to provide enhanced maternity and paternity leave, a contributory pension scheme, and paid professional memberships including RCVS, BVA, and VDS. Funded visa sponsorship is available where required, and all team members have access to a wellbeing and reward hub, cycle to work scheme, and in-house career development opportunities.
If you’re looking to join a modern, supportive, and forward-thinking team where you can build a fulfilling career and enjoy an excellent work-life balance, we’d love to hear from you.
