Veterinary Surgeon – Greater Manchester
This practice, open since 2000 has been proudly serving the Greater Manchester community as a locally owned practice dedicated to delivering exceptional veterinary care. They are now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an established and supportive team, helping them continue to provide the high-quality service that theirloyal clients have come to expect.
This is a part-time position of around 20 hours per week, with participation in the 1 in 4 weekend rota. They welcome applications from vets who prefer a consult-only role, as they’re happy to shape the position to suit the right person. Professional growth and development are at the heart of what they do, so CPD and certificate study are highly encouraged and supported. For the right candidate, the role offers excellent rates of pay up to £70,000 FTE, depending on experience.
The practice is independently run by partners who lead a fantastic, close-knit team committed to providing outstanding service to clients and their pets. Their dedication has created a genuine sense of pride and belonging among the team, fostering a positive culture built on support, fairness and shared success. Staff retention is excellent, which means continuity of care for clients and a workplace where everyone feels valued.
The practice enjoys a superb location, just seven miles from Manchester city centre — perfect for those who love the city’s cultural attractions. For those who prefer the outdoors, the beautiful Peak District is only a short drive away. The tram stop right outside the practice makes commuting easy, and Manchester Airport is conveniently close, ideal for anyone who enjoys spontaneous weekend trips or international travel.
The ideal candidate will bring good surgical and diagnostic skills to complement the existing three-vet team. You’ll be a collaborative team player who enjoys working in a busy yet friendly environment. You’ll also be supported by our talented team of five qualified nurses and five receptionists, all of whom play a key role in maintaining the warm, professional atmosphere that defines the practice.
In return, they offer a supportive and friendly working environment, along with opportunities for career development and an attractive employment package. This includes a competitive salary of up to £70,000 FTE depending on experience, generous CPD funding with support for certificates, private healthcare, paid professional memberships including RCVS and VDS, and no out-of-hours requirements.
If you’re ready to join a respected, community-focused practice where you can enjoy both professional satisfaction and a healthy work-life balance, we’d love to hear from you.
