This advanced first opinion practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its team in Greater Manchester on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will be accountable for patient care within the clinic, ensuring that exceptional standards of care are delivered consistently to clients, patients, and colleagues. The role requires maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational compliance while contributing to a professional and supportive practice environment.
The team has veterinary surgeons holding certificates in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasound. The clinic is equipped with a full orthopaedic kit, gastroscope, endoscope, and laparoscopic equipment, providing the opportunity to work with a varied and technically advanced caseload.
This is a full-time position comprising 40 hours per week over four days, with participation in a one-in-six weekend rota. The practice offers a comprehensive package designed to support health, wellbeing, professional development, and career progression.
Team members have access to private medical insurance and a health cash plan, as well as 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support, with life assurance provided at three times annual salary. Annual leave includes five weeks plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
Professional development is actively supported through a £1,500 CPD allowance, three days of paid CPD leave per year, access to Clinical Communities, internal CPD programs, and 24-hour hospitals, as well as funded certificates and defined internal career pathways. Additional support includes payment of RCVS, VDS, and BVA fees, relocation assistance and visa sponsorship where required, and sabbatical options based on length of service.
