An established and growing small animal practice in the North East area of Nottingham is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its busy and progressive clinical team. Due to continued growth in its client base, the practice is looking to welcome a confident and motivated vet who enjoys working in a fast-paced, care-driven environment.
The Practice
This RCVS-accredited Training Practice and Gold Cat Friendly Clinic is located close to Nottingham city centre and within easy reach of the Peak District. The practice operates from bright, modern and spacious premises, offering excellent facilities designed to support high clinical standards and a varied caseload.
Onsite equipment includes digital and dental X-ray, in-house laboratory facilities, and separate wards for dogs, cats and rabbits. The practice is also equipped with its own laparoscopy equipment, allowing surgeons to routinely perform laparoscopic spays and cystoscopy procedures.
The Team
The veterinary team consists of five Veterinary Surgeons with a broad mix of experience and clinical interests. Several vets hold, or are currently studying towards, certificates in areas including Exotics, Surgery and Imaging, while the Lead Vet has a strong focus on Dentistry. This breadth of expertise ensures an interesting and diverse caseload and offers excellent opportunities for learning and collaboration.
The vets are supported by a dedicated nursing team of five RVNs and a knowledgeable reception team of seven, creating a well-balanced and supportive working environment.
The Role
The position is full time, based on a 40-hour working week, with a 1-in-5 weekend rota. Weekend hours are Saturday 9:00am–4:30pm and Sunday 10:00am–3:30pm. There are no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities.
The practice is seeking a confident small animal Veterinary Surgeon who values high standards of patient care, strong client relationships and teamwork. The role would suit a vet who enjoys a varied caseload and wants to work within a collaborative, welfare-focused team.
The Package
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary dependent on experience. The role also offers excellent long-term career development opportunities, including full support for certificates, a generous CPD allowance, paid RCVS and VDS memberships, a contributory pension scheme and access to exclusive company discounts and rewards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking to join a progressive, well-equipped practice where clinical excellence, professional development and team culture are equally valued.
