Our client is looking for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team the role can be based mainly from the main site or split across both sites.
The branches cover all aspects of first opinion caseloads with a mixture of consultations and surgery you will also lead and mentor junior veterinarians, veterinary nurses and support staff providing guidance and oversight to them. You will assist in managing the daily operations of the practice working alongside the Practice Director and Clinical Director, including scheduling, budgeting, inventory management and policy implementation, oversee financial aspects of the practice, including billing, cost control, and financial planning. Contribute to strategic planning and business development to enhance the practices services and reach and provide high quality clinical care. Whilst working at a branch you must also be confident with sole charge. There is also have onsite accommodation available which consists of a 2-bedroom flat fully furnished should you be looking to relocate to the area.

The main surgery near Buckingham is equipped with full diagnostic, laboratory, surgical and hospitalisation facilities. This enables them to have the satisfaction of investigating and treating patients to a high clinical standard whilst referring to specialists when appropriate. They perform their cardiac scans, endoscopy (rhinoscopy & otoscopy all the way through to colonoscopy), laparoscopy (90%+ of spays are “keyhole”), fracture repair and stifle TTA’s; and improve the quality of their surgical procedures and outcomes with bipolar diathermy, harmonic scalpels and “Enseal” equipment. Dental x-rays are available at both sites with air-driven equipment, sharp instruments and “Vet-tome” to make “dentals” a pleasure rather than a chore.
The role is up to 40 hours per week across 4/4.5 days with a 1:4 Saturday morning, there is no OOH as this is covered by Vets Now in Milton Keynes. The client is open to full or part time hours and can be flexible with working patterns for the right candidate.
The vet practice has a team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons 5 FTE, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and a Veterinary Care Assistant providing top class veterinary care. They are a long-standing mostly home-grown team with a progressive and welcoming attitude. Buckingham is within a grammar school catchment area.
