Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for your next career move? I’m excited to offer a full-time opportunity at my clients multiple award-winning, 100% small animal practice located in South London.
The recently refurbished hospital offers outstanding facilities, including dedicated ultrasound, X-ray, and dentistry suites, as well as two large operating theatres. As a single-site hospital, they have been carefully designed with patient comfort in mind, featuring separate dog and cat waiting areas and wards. They are also proud recipients of the Investors in the Environment Bronze Award 2024, reflecting commitment to sustainability alongside clinical excellence. Inpatients benefit from onsite out-of-hours care provided by Vets Now, allowing them to manage complex and interesting cases in-house without the need for patient transfers.
They place a strong emphasis on work–life balance. There is no out-of-hours or bank holiday working, and the rota includes three early finishes each week, allowing you to enjoy more personal time. Weekend commitments are infrequent, with just one in eight weekends and one in eight Saturdays worked, supported by generous time off in lieu. Consultations are 15 minutes long, with protected admin time and regular breaks built into the schedule.
The location offers the best of both city and countryside living. With excellent transport links, Central London is easily accessible via trains, the Underground, and 24-hour night buses. The practice is close to Wimbledon, Twickenham, Epsom Downs, Box Hill, and the Surrey countryside, making it ideal for sports lovers, cyclists, and walkers. The area is also highly family friendly, with excellent schools, healthcare options, and attractions such as Chessington World of Adventures, Hampton Court Palace, and Brooklands Museum nearby. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are conveniently within reach, making travel and holidays effortless.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team that includes multiple certificate holders in medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology. They encourage knowledge sharing through daily inpatient rounds and regular case discussions, and you will be supported by a highly skilled team of nurses, care assistants, and client care professionals. the culture is one of collaboration, continuous learning, and shared success.
They are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with at least one year of post-qualification experience in small animal practice, who is confident in medical, imaging, and surgical skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, be passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care, and bring a warm, compassionate, and proactive approach to their work.
The working pattern includes a mix of early shifts from 7:30am to 3:30pm or 8am to 4pm, and late shifts from 10am to 8pm. Weekend work is limited to one in eight weekends, with Saturdays from 8am to 4pm and Sundays from 10am to 2pm. There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday shifts, as these are fully covered onsite by Vets Now.
The salary for this role is up to £61,000 per annum, depending on experience. you will also benefit from five weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays and an additional birthday leave day, with RCVS and VDS fees fully covered. You will receive a £2,000 annual CPD allowance as well as clear opportunities for career progression.
