Our client is a busy first opinion practice in Dewsbury who are open to full and part time Veterinary Surgeon applications to join their team.

The practice offers all routine surgery plus some more advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures. They have a fully equipped operating room with ultrasonic instrument cleaning and vacuum sterilisers separated from non-clean procedure areas, including a separate diagnostic x-ray/ultrasound room. re is In house blood testing, using the latest Idexx analysers and also Sedivue analyser for urine sediment analysis. Facilities to offer blood pressure testing, cryosurgery, to perform suction and have a fully integrated dental machine.  They have a culture of consideration and kindness in the practice toward the patients but also to staff members. The main aim with patients is always to provide the highest-level clinical care practical, regardless of whether the client is insured or has less to spend in these challenging times.

The enthusiastic team consists of 7 Veterinary Surgeons with varying amounts of experience, led and fully supported by the Clinical Director. They are supported by 7 caring nursing staff and a great team of permanent and part-time reception staff overseen by the Practice Manager.

There is scope for this position to be full or part-time hours depending on applicant preferences. A normal day in the life would consist of a good mixture of consult and surgery work depending on the rota for that day. They try to incorporate operating time each day particularly if the Vet Surgeon was to be on a later finish with evening consultations. Client calls, telephone consultations and of course reporting on any in patient cases they are responsible for.

They could accommodate a Veterinary Surgeon looking to gain further experience and would be happy to offer support if needed for performing surgery and handling medicine cases. A most important attribute would be the ability to get on well in a team and with their valued clients. This is a role full of possibility and development. The option to have a certificate funded is available as is progression into a senior clinic director role should that be where you want to head.

Salary for this position is up to £65k pa DOE there is accommodation available if required, plus a relocation allowance of £5k.
