Our client has a Small Animal practice on the outskirts of Peterborough who are looking for a Vet to join them.

This is a small animal practice, established in the area since 1989 and a firmly established part of the village they are based in. Due to housing expansion and changes in local competitors, the clinic has seen a huge increase in client registrations. They are situated in a vibrant market town within the Fens just a 20 minute drive from Peterborough. The practice has the usual range of equipment, Ultrasound, digital x-ray, in house bloods etc.

You will be stepping into a highly experienced, close knit team which includes 3 certificate holders alongside the CD, who has a Masters in Histopathology. Not forgetting the fabulous nursing and support team. As there is such a range of skills, experience and interests within the team, they try to encourage people to follow what they enjoy as much as possible. The team take part in regular dog walks, often paired with a picnic in finer weather. Additionally, they enjoy sharing homemade treats during lunch breaks. This is a tightly bonded team that collaborates effectively, providing support and guidance to one another.

They are looking for an experienced small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them and would be able to consider a consulting only Vet if this was desired but would equally like someone with all-round GP experience. Duties for the role would include:
  • Examining and observing animals to diagnose health problems and assess their health
  • Performing laboratory tests on samples and specimens
  • Dressing and treating wounds, performing surgery and prescribing medication
  • Testing for diseases and administering vaccinations
  • Performing ultrasound and diagnostic imaging tests
  • Advising animal owners on preventive healthcare, general care and nutrition
  • Maintaining medical records of animals
  • Predominantly a consulting position, however an interest in dentistry would be desirable
Ideally they are looking to fill 40 hours, but this could be a mixture of part-time or full-time hours as they understand the pressures of family life and personal time. There is no out of hours requirement as this is covered by a local practice.

Salary is up to £68k pa dependent on experience and there is a relocation allowance of up to £5k if required.
