An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time or part time Veterinary Surgeon to join this friendly and supportive team near Market Deeping.

This is a first opinion general practice, primarily small animal but the clinic does have an exotics department with potential development in this area. Some duties can include but are not limited to, consulting, operating, in-patient care and general case management where continuity is actively encouraged. The clinic is a fully equipped general practice with spacious premises, with a separate cat and dog wards plus a separate exotic hospital. The team carry out ophthalmic surgery in house and there is a visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon. The Day Manager organises the logistics of the day, allowing vets to be vets and focus on their patients, creating a smoother flow to the day. 20 minute consultations are standard and double appointments for more complicated cases also contribute to a manageable workload. There are 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVN, 6 SVN, 4 VCA, 7 support, ECC and Ophthalmology certificate holders and 2 recent graduates. There is an excellent level of experience to support all stages of your career and are also a nurse training practice so teaching and learning are embedded in their culture. The team are welcoming, supportive of one another and genuinely pull together, they work hard but are social too.

The practice is in Lincolnshire on the border near Cambridgeshire and Rutland. There is easy access to London, the midlands, and the north via a nearby main trainline and they are within 90 minutes of 2 airports (East Midlands and Stansted). This a lovely rural location a short distance from the historic market town of Stamford and Rutland Water with fantastic loyal clients.  

This role is open to both full and part time applications with the full time rota being 40 hours per week across 4 days week between Monday and Saturday with 1 night a week on call for hospitalised inpatients (inpatients are cared for by night staff and call outs are rare). Vets Now see all overnight emergencies and cover Saturday night, Sundays and Bank Holidays. The client take a flexible approach to rota patterns and are open to discussions around this on both a full time and part time basis.
