Our client is a well-established Veterinary Hospital in West Sussex on the Southern Coast of England, there are now looking for a Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet to join them.
They have 2 branch clinics within a 20-minute drive and ample, free car parking at all 3 sites. The surgery is loaded with all the usual toys including Digital Xray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Cryosurgery, Radiosurgery, and a fully equipped lab. The practice is based on a fabulous coastline with plenty of wide-open space on the South Downs for country walks. Bognor is an entertainment hub with Butlins and Hotham Park, as well as a local cinema, multiple pubs, and places to eat. Heaps of seaside shops and fun, including the pier and promenade train rides! There is a multiplex cinema in Chichester, with a bowling alley and various big-name restaurants. They have local transport links to trains that service Gatwick and London and a short drive to Portsmouth will give you plenty of outlet shopping and links to the ferries to the Isle of Wight and France. If you fancy some history, there is also the historic town of Arundel with the Castle, lake and quaint little shops.
The surgery is made up of a large, evolving team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Long term locum Vets, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses and 5 Animal Nursing Assistants plus, a dedicated team of receptionists and admin support. There are several team members working towards their certificates in a number of areas, and they pride themselves on being a progressive practice that actively encourages and supports personal development. They are enhancing their client-based support by gaining Cat-Friendly status (ISFM) along with personal cat-friendly professionals on staff, becoming a Rabbit Friendly Practice and gaining a Fear Free Professional status, all in the aid to reduce stress and anxiety within patients. They are a certified Bee Friendly practice, with the aim to enhance their Eco-friendly approach and sustainability. They work closely with a local wildlife hospital, so treat a diverse range of wild animals.
The client is looking for a full or part-time small animal vet and is open to build the role around the right individual. They are open to school hours/early/late shifts/Saturdays/consult only - all considered. They are also willing to support a return-to-work post career break/extended breaks/maternity leave. Full-time would be a 4-day week, with one in four Saturday mornings. Currently no Out of Hours.
The salary for this role is up to £75,000 depending on experience, plus a welcome bonus of up to £5k and a relocation allowance of up top £5k if required.
The successful candidate will be interested in building strong client relationships, have exceptional clinical standards and enjoy working within a team with some sole charge. The ability to thrive in a busy small animal hospital would be an advantage. Certificate holders, or someone who would like to study towards one, would be desirable. They are looking for a motivated individual, with good communication skills and excellent patient care.
