My client is an independent veterinary practice based in The Kings Lynn area, established in 2013. Since its inception, the practice has grown significantly, achieving RCVS Hospital Accreditation, expanding its team, and opening a second practice just 25 minutes from the original site. They consider its team to be a tribe—supportive, motivated, and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally. The practice is committed to fostering an environment where team members enjoy their work, feel valued, and are inspired to progress in their careers.
The Opportunity
They are seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its RCVS Accredited Hospital and RCVS Accredited General Practice serving the King’s Lynn area. Having supported the local community for over a decade, the practice employs approximately 65 dedicated professionals, including veterinary surgeons, nurses, and commercial support staff. They provide clear and tailored career progression pathways, supporting certificates, residencies, and partnership opportunities. The practice benefits from a highly supportive clinical team, with over half of its veterinary surgeons holding additional qualifications. CPD is uncapped, with protected administrative time built into the working day, and full private healthcare is provided from day one. An ‘Angel Fund’ is available to support clients experiencing financial hardship, alongside flexible working patterns and a guaranteed one-hour lunch break.
The role would suit an experienced vet who values work-life balance and is keen to join a driven and collaborative team. They recognise that every career path is unique and is committed to supporting ongoing professional development.
The practice offers state-of-the-art facilities, including full in-house laboratory services, DR X-ray and CT imaging, advanced cardiac-level ultrasound, and dental X-ray equipment. Routine consultations are allocated a minimum of 20 minutes, allowing for thorough, compassionate patient care. In addition, They operate a thoughtful and empathetic pricing model, ensuring registered clients are not charged at the point of euthanasia.
Additional benefits include the payment of RCVS, VDS, and BVNA fees, a £1,000 new baby bonus, £100 book vouchers for employees’ children on their birthdays up to the age of 16, monthly Lucky Dip prizes, birthday bonuses with a day off on employees’ birthdays, enhanced paternity pay, staff discounts, and a pension scheme. Employees receive 5.6 weeks of annual leave, increasing with length of service, relocation assistance where required, and full salary for up to five working days per calendar year in the event of sickness absence.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have a minimum of 18 months’ post-qualification experience and have completed their Vet GDP. Due to the rural location, the ability to travel independently is essential. The practice welcomes veterinary surgeons with either medical or surgical interests.
