Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon seeking a role within a progressive practice that will actively support your professional ambitions, with a salary of up to £65,000 per annum on a full-time equivalent basis, depending on experience?
My client in Rotherham is looking to welcome a confident and motivated vet to the team on either a full-time or part-time basis, with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. You will be working in a bright, spacious and air-conditioned practice that has been purpose built to industry-leading standards. The surgery is exceptionally well equipped, featuring a dedicated operating theatre, digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, ultrasound, rigid endoscopy, laparoscopy and comprehensive dentistry facilities, enabling a high standard of clinical care and case continuity.
The practice offers flexibility in shift patterns to support a healthy work–life balance. Weekend commitment is limited to Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm on a 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 rota, with no out-of-hours, Sunday or Bank Holiday working, with the exception of Good Friday. Consultations are scheduled for 20 minutes, allowing sufficient time to provide thorough and compassionate care. A generous CPD allowance is available, additional annual leave is awarded after one year of service, and you will also enjoy having your birthday off.
Including an experienced partner and practice manager, the clinical team includes three full-time vets, all with advanced skill sets covering areas such as soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, BOAS and laparoscopy, alongside a highly experienced part-time vet. They are supported by a strong nursing and support team consisting of five registered veterinary nurses, two student veterinary nurses and a veterinary care assistant. The team prides itself on collaboration, mutual support and creating a positive working environment where everyone is encouraged to achieve their career goals.
Due to continued growth, the practice is ideally seeking a vet with three or more years of experience who is confident in routine consultations and soft tissue surgery. The role is suited to a full-time vet, although part-time hours can be accommodated, with flexibility around how those hours are structured. The position includes working one Saturday morning in every three and occasional periods of sole charge.
Above all, the practice is driven by a commitment to putting pets and their owners first, while ensuring the team enjoys coming to work each day. If you share these values and are looking for a role where you can truly thrive, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
