Our client in Southampton are looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in surgery to join their first opinion surgery. 

The position is available for a full time member of staff to work 40 hours a week, however the team can consider a part-time experienced vet or job share. The successful candidate must be able to work approximately 1:4 Saturday morning surgeries in a sole charge capacity. Although there will be no OOH as the surgery is covered by Vets Now.

This is a close knit friendly team working out of a single site practice on the outskirts of Southampton. Located on the edge of the New Forest National Park and close to the water sport amenities of the Solent, the team of experience vets are supported by a team of nurses, most of whom have trained in the surgery and have remained with the team and work exceptionally well together. 

Cuurently the team have 5 vets at the surgery ranging in experience from a first year graduate to vets with 20+ years’ experience. They have 3 student nurses and the surgery enjoys teaching and sharing new ideas. They also have digital radiography, ultrasonography, in house laboratory machines from Idexx, capnography and an E.C.G machine. 

The ideal Vet Surgeon will fit seamlessly into this busy, friendly team. You will have a good sense of humour and an excellent work wthic. You will need to be self-motivated with an interest in all aspects of the job and the willingness to support and teach new Graduates surgery skills. Some UK experience is desirable. The team encourage and support new ideas and offer CPD to develop and help improve individuals skills and confidence.  Salary is £65k pa.
