Full-Time Dental / Anaesthetic Nurse
Leeds
Salary dependent on experience | 40 hours per week | 4-day working week Monday to Friday | 1 in 4 weekends
Are you a passionate and experienced RVN with a keen interest in dentistry and anaesthesia? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary Hospital, where you’ll play a key role in our busy surgical and dental services.
This hospital is a 24-hour, family-run, RCVS-accredited facility, providing both emergency services and referrals. Since opening in 2012 They have grown to a team of over 70 dedicated colleagues. They support 19 referring veterinary practices across the region, offering a wide range of referral services including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, oncology, laparoscopy, endoscopy, advanced imaging such as CT and ultrasonography, and a thriving dental practice that covers first opinion, preventative and referral dentistry.
They are now looking for an RVN with a passion for dentistry and anaesthesia to join the team. In this new role, you will primarily focus on coordinating our dental clinics, overseeing purpose-built IM3 dental suite, and providing high-level anaesthetic support to the dental caseload. You will be instrumental in maintaining and organising the dental suite, ensuring all equipment is in excellent working order, and managing stock and consumables.
Working closely with Post Graduate Certificate-holding Veterinary Surgeon in Dentistry, you will help deliver and develop the growing dentistry services, assisting with both routine and advanced procedures. Your enthusiasm for dentistry and client education will be key, as you’ll take an active role in post-op rechecks, general oral health clinics, and helping pet owners improve their pets’ dental care at home. There is also the opportunity to lead on in-house dental CPD for the team, covering topics such as instrument care and common dental conditions, ensuring dentistry remains a high-profile service throughout the hospital.
They are looking for someone with experience in dental radiography and a genuine interest in developing their skills further. Ideally, you’ll either hold or be working towards a nursing certificate in dentistry. While experience with advanced procedures like interdental wiring or temporary crown extensions would be an advantage, it’s not essential. More important is your drive to develop the dentistry service, manage referrals, coordinate diary bookings, and ensure our dentistry offering continues to grow and evolve.
In return, they offer a supportive environment with access to in-house training from a team of veterinary and nursing certificate holders. They provide paid memberships including RCVS, VDS, and BVNA, a generous CPD allowance with support for pursuing further qualifications including certificates, as well as pension, income protection, and life insurance.
If you’re an experienced, motivated RVN ready to take ownership of a dynamic, expanding dental nursing role within a supportive, expert-led team, we’d love to hear from you below
