Veterinary Surgeon – East London
Step into the energy of East London and join a practice that’s as dynamic as the community it serves. They are looking for a full-time vet to become part of its growing team — a team that blends clinical excellence with genuine camaraderie.
This is a busy, well-established first-opinion practice nestled in the borough of Newham, just an eight-minute walk from the nearest DLR station. It’s a prime location for city living, with fast links across London and into Essex, and a loyal client base that values the personal care they provide.
You’ll be working alongside a brilliant senior vet who’s not only clinically sharp but also passionate about mentoring. The team includes a senior RVN, dedicated trainee nurses, and a regional manager who brings invaluable support and insight to the practice. Together, they create an environment where learning is encouraged, and collaboration is second nature.
The role offers a 40-hour working week, including a 1-in-4 Saturday rota and a 1-in-8 Sunday rotation at the Veterinary Hospital close by. You’ll also be scheduled for up to two bank holidays per year and included in the last-resort on-call and twilight rota for the hospital. To help you settle in, your induction will include a hospital orientation day so you’re fully prepared before your first shift.
They are looking for a vet who enjoys the pace of a busy GP setting and is confident with routine surgeries and dentals. You’ll have the freedom to work independently, but never in isolation — The Hospital provides full support for complex cases and out-of-hours care. With access to CT, advanced ultrasound, scopes, laparoscopic equipment, and a team of specialists, it’s also a great place to build your ECC skills during your Sunday shifts.
The salary for this role ranges from £45,000 to £61,000 FTE, depending on experience, with room to grow as you develop in the position. You’ll also enjoy a generous benefits package including 6.6 weeks of annual leave (including bank holidays), private medical insurance with Bupa, up to £2,000 CPD budget per year, five days’ paid CPD leave, and relocation assistance where applicable.
If you’re ready to bring your skills to a practice that’s vibrant, supportive, and full of opportunity, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s talk about how this could be the perfect next step in your veterinary career.
