My Client in South West London are seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager spanning 3 practice in the Surbiton area This offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop nursing teams across three well-established and high-performing sites. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, with a working pattern of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and no weekend or out-of-hours commitments. The salary starts from £40,000, depending on experience.
This position combines clinical responsibility with leadership, allowing the successful candidate to remain hands-on while shaping nursing standards and supporting team development. The Clinical Nurse Manager plays a key role in maintaining high levels of patient care, mentoring nurses at all stages of their careers, and influencing processes that directly impact clinical outcomes. The role also provides valuable exposure to senior leadership, contributing to wider practice strategy and decision-making.
The working week is typically divided between clinical duties and leadership responsibilities. Around three days are spent in practice, usually rotating across the three branches, while the remaining time is dedicated to leadership and administrative tasks. However, the role maintains a strong clinical presence, ensuring the manager remains closely connected to the team and day-to-day operations rather than being office-based.
The position is well suited to an experienced Lead or Head Nurse who is confident in mentoring and developing others, and who is ready to take on a broader, multi-site leadership role. It offers the chance to lead by example while continuing to work at a high clinical level, alongside contributing to business discussions and strategic planning.
The nursing teams themselves are stable, engaged, and supportive, with a mix of experienced and newly qualified nurses. There is a strong culture of mentorship, shared standards, and mutual respect, where team members feel their input is valued and acted upon. This collaborative environment allows the Clinical Nurse Manager to focus on leadership while still enjoying meaningful clinical work.
There is a clear emphasis on professional growth and leadership development within the role. The successful candidate will gain exposure to senior leadership discussions, develop an understanding of multi-site operations and financial awareness, and grow not only as a clinician but also as a leader within the organisation.
The workplace culture promotes wellbeing and connection, with regular team-led social activities such as quizzes, yoga sessions, and themed events, alongside seasonal celebrations throughout the year. The environment is described as having a genuine family feel, where colleagues support one another both professionally and socially.
The benefits package is comprehensive and designed to support both personal and professional wellbeing. It includes five weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional birthday day off, payment of RCVS and VDS fees, life assurance, and a generous staff discount. Employees also benefit from a high-quality uniform, structured induction support, and an employer pension contribution, as well as enhanced family leave policies and access to an electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
Ongoing learning and development are strongly encouraged, with access to internal and external CPD, funded certificate opportunities, and a wide range of clinical and non-clinical training resources. Additional health support includes access to clinical boards and annual flu vaccination, ensuring employees are well supported in both their career progression and overall wellbeing.
