Clinical Lead Veterinary Surgeon – Liverpool
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for the next step in your career? I have an exciting opportunity for you to join a supportive and ambitious team as Clinical Lead
This practice is home to a close-knit team who share both expertise and enthusiasm for veterinary care. Between them, the nurses bring more than 40 years of qualified experience, covering everything from first opinion practice to referral hospitals and charity work. The client care colleagues add a further 20 years of customer service in the veterinary sector, ensuring every client feels looked after and supported.
They place a strong emphasis on professional development and learning together. CPD is encouraged both in-house and externally, and many of the team are currently pursuing further qualifications – from veterinary care assistant training to certificates in radiology and small animal dentistry. This means you’ll not only be supported clinically, but also as a leader within a team eager to grow and succeed alongside you.
The role itself is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon confident in all aspects of small animal first opinion practice, surgery, and medicine. Previous leadership experience isn’t essential; what matters is your clinical confidence, communication skills, and collaborative approach. If you already have, or would like to develop, a special interest in surgery, they’d be especially keen to support that.
They can offer a salary of up to £70,000 (dependent on experience) The role comes with flexibility — full or part-time hours are available — and a rota that includes just one Saturday in four. You’ll also benefit from a clear career pathway with opportunities to progress, alongside funded CPD and support towards certificates.
The practice is situated with free onsite parking and plenty of cafés and shops nearby. Just a short walk brings you into Prescot town centre, home to award-winning restaurants, the Shakespeare North Playhouse, and a lively cultural scene. A little further afield, you’ll find the Knowsley Estate and Safari Park, while Liverpool, Chester and Manchester are all within easy reach — giving you the perfect mix of vibrant city life and peaceful countryside.
You’ll enjoy access to excellent career development opportunities, a strong network of clinical leaders, and a comprehensive benefits package. This includes 28 days’ annual leave (which increases with service), contributory pension, paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA), and exclusive shopping and lifestyle discounts
This practice is proud of the care they deliver, both to patients and to people. And are committed to creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported, and inspired — a place where you can thrive as both a clinician and a leader.
