This practice are seeking an experienced veterinarian to join an Out-of-Hours team at a tier 3 hospital, a training-focused practice located near Liverpool and Manchester. With stunning countryside nearby, including Wales and the Lakes, the location offers an excellent work-life balance alongside superb airport connections.
The hospital is fully equipped with advanced facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental radiography, various scopes, CO2 laser, laparoscopic equipment, a 64-slice CT scanner, and a 1.5T MRI scanner. As part of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and individual progression, with many colleagues completing or studying for certificates.
In this role, you will provide high-quality care to out-of-hours patients, managing cases from start to finish with strong clinical and surgical skills. Monitoring hospitalised inpatients is an important part of the position, and a passion for emergency and critical care is highly valued. Additional qualifications in ECC are a significant advantage. You will work closely with two RVNs overnight and benefit from a collaborative and knowledgeable team.
The rota is designed to support a balanced lifestyle, with seven consecutive nights on followed by seven nights off, covering shifts from 8:30pm to 8:30am. The out-of-hours service supports 16 veterinary practices, with strong links to referral services.
They offer a competitive salary up to £85,000 depending on experience, alongside a generous benefits package. Annual leave includes 6.6 weeks, inclusive of bank holidays, and CPD is supported with a £1,750 allowance. VDS, RCVS, and BSAVA/BVA fees are covered, and there are additional perks such as a staff pet discount scheme, maternity, paternity and adoption pay, with optional private medical insurance and Healthshield.
