An opportunity is available for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join the friendly and supportive team in the lovely town of Derby.
 The practice is known for its welcoming atmosphere, where team members value both professional collaboration and a positive, enjoyable working environment.
Located near the main road, the clinic benefits from excellent transport links to nearby areas such as Nottingham, Burton upon Trent, and the Peak District. It is a well-established small animal practice equipped with modern facilities, including advanced diagnostic equipment and an in-house laboratory. The practice also holds Silver Standard Cat Friendly Clinic status and is recognised as rabbit friendly, reflecting its commitment to high standards of care across species.
The team is led by an experienced vet and team leader,  She is supported by a dedicated team comprising three additional veterinary surgeons, five nurses, client care advisors, and administrative staff, all working together to provide a high level of service and patient care.
The role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with solid experience in general small animal medicine and surgery, along with confidence in managing and working up cases. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining excellent clinical standards while working as part of a collaborative and supportive team. The position is part-time, typically between 15 and 30 hours per week, and includes participation in a shared Saturday rota of one in three weekends. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities, although some sole charge duties may be required. Flexibility is offered in working patterns, with a preference for availability on Fridays.
The position comes with a competitive salary of up to £65,000 (full-time equivalent, dependent on experience), alongside a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a generous CPD allowance with support towards further qualifications, increasing annual leave entitlement with length of service, and a contributory pension scheme. Professional memberships are covered, and there are opportunities for career development within the organisation. They can also provide visa sponsorship where required
