My client are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated night team at a well-established 24-Hour Hospital in South Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a thriving out-of-hours service, offering a fulfilling role with a strong work-life balance.
The position follows a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, allowing for significant time to rest, travel, study, or pursue other interests.
Due to the high caseload and varied emergency work, this role is well-suited to a vet with at least three years of experience, particularly those working towards or interested in pursuing a Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care.  On shift, you’ll work alongside a dedicated and experienced night nurse, with support from the wider hospital and network of local practices. All sites use the same clinical software, ensuring seamless access to patient histories and continuity of care.
This is a purpose-built, Tier 3 hospital equipped to a high standard. Facilities include a full-body CT scanner, digital X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, two theatres, three consulting rooms, and a spacious prep area. The practice also features dedicated learning and office spaces, supporting professional development in a collaborative and enthusiastic environment.
The team is vibrant and has positive energy and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional care to patients and clients. Passionate about ongoing learning and innovation, and are encouraged in personal growth through funded certificate opportunities, internal CPD, and support for further training. Whether you’re looking to take the next step in your clinical development or want to balance a busy and rewarding role with quality time off, this could be the perfect fit.
They can offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes private medical insurance and a health cash plan from day one, covering dental, physiotherapy and optical services, with access to a 24/7 private GP.
You’ll receive life assurance at three times your salary and have access to confidential counselling support.
Annual leave entitlement includes five weeks plus bank holidays, with an additional paid 'Day for You' to use however you wish. They cover your professional fees (RCVS, VDS, and BVA) and provide financial support for certificates. Other benefits include an interest-free season ticket loan, Cycle to Work scheme, product and service discounts, sabbatical options based on length of service, and full support with relocation and Tier 2 visa sponsorship where required.
If you’re looking for a supportive environment with clinical freedom, top-tier equipment, and the time to enjoy your life outside of work, we’d love to hear from you.
