My client in Leominster is seeking a confident and motivated Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving semi-rural practice in the beautiful market town of Leominster. You’ll be working alongside a supportive group of experienced vets, a skilled nursing team of nine, and eight dedicated reception and admin colleagues. As head Vet, you’ll be central to driving clinical excellence within the practice. That means providing first-class patient care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring, while ensuring smooth handovers and continuity for cases needing enhanced support. You’ll build strong client relationships through clear communication and care, and you’ll play a key role in mentoring and developing colleagues.
You’ll also support the growth of this new 24-hour practice, help to guide the clinical team, and contribute to shaping the culture of progressive, patient-focused veterinary care
You’ll be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon (or someone eligible to register) with strong clinical and surgical skills, confidence in sole charge, and a team-focused mindset. You’ll be experienced in providing high standards of care, proactive in developing both people and practice, and an excellent communicator who can inspire colleagues and build lasting client trust.
Benefits include: Private Medical Insurance, a health cash plan covering dental, physio, and optical services, as well as 24/7 access to a private GP service. Life assurance, a counselling helpline. Generous CPD package of £1,500 plus three paid days each year, internal training opportunities, and funded certificate options. You’ll also have your RCVS, VDS, and BVA fees covered, plus the option of sabbaticals depending on your length of service.
