Our client has a two-site practice with the main hospital based in the beautiful town of Stroud and a branch practice located nearby, a small town a short drive away. The role would work across both sites.
They are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who is enthusiastic about patient welfare, gold-standard treatment options, client journeys and colleague support and welfare. You will be a proactive individual who is able and willing to contribute your ideas and skills across the practice to build on the fantastic team and offering they already have. You will have a mix of consults and surgery so you have the best of both worlds. They strongly encourage career development so if you wish to pursue a specialism or certificate, they would be delighted to discuss this with you.
Typically, the full-time position is 40 hours per week, spread over 5 days with a mix of early and late shifts (latest finish is 8:30pm). You will have a 1:5 share in the weekend rota, 8:30am-3:30pm on a Saturday and 10am - 2pm on a Sunday which accrues two full days off in TOIL. There is no OOH and they close on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
The practice is equipped with an operating theatre, dedicated dental theatre, X-ray, dental X-ray, portable ultrasound and a newly installed scavenging system. There is a separate Cat and Dog wards and an isolation kennel. They offer a separate Cat reception area, and a spacious and welcoming waiting room.
Across the group, there are 10 Vets, 7 RVN's, 2 SVN's and 4 VCA's along with a dedicated support team. As a practice they focus on collaboration ensuring consistency and cohesion across all teams which is supported by regular team and whole practice meetings. Social events are organised quarterly, examples of which include, ninja warrior, pottery painting, team rounders, family fun days, wine tasting and samba drumming.
They encourage all team members to take an active role in the Practice, through suggestions, discussions and participation. There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all clients, patients and team members. They aim for all patients to feel safe, secure and protected in their care. They strive to provide all colleagues with personal development opportunities. They will use their skills and knowledge to educate and support clients to provide the best possible care for their pets.
