Our client’s clinic is in a fantastic location close to Rochdale and easily accessed by car or public transport. The client is now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join the team.
The practice is well equipped with diagnostics including in-house lab, digital x-ray and ultrasound. The theatre is kitted out for soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, if you have an interest in this area. You will be joining a team of 5 long-serving, hands-on nurses for support. They run their own nurse consults and are happy to get involved in schedule 3 procedures. There is a lovely support team made up of 3 receptionists, a practice manager and a practice director. They are a down-to-earth bunch, who are ready to welcome a new face to the practice. For many years they have supported the local cat charity, getting their residents ready to go to new homes. They are well known in the local area and pride themselves on delivering a personal and professional service. The team are a very social bunch who often meet up outside of work for meals, drinks and dog walks. Access to mental health services is provided to all staff and they are lucky to have a dedicated wellbeing champion on our staff! There’s always someone to talk to on those harder days.
As the new vet you will be working alongside the current, and very experienced vet, who has a keen interest in feline medicine. The role will involve a mix of consulting and surgery. Any areas of particular interest are welcomed and CPD encouraged. The successful candidate will be confident, relatively experienced, and ready to get stuck in. Ideally the position would be 38 hours worked throughout the week, but this is flexible and open to negotiation. The working day ends at 6pm and there are no out-of-hours. Weekend work would be 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am until 12pm).
Ideally, the new team member will have adequate experience to be able to consult and operate independently. The clinic can get fairly busy so the ability to work under pressure is an advantage. RCVS registration is essential, extra certification desirable. Salary of up to £75,000 dependent on experience, a welcome bonus of £5k (pro rata) for new hires and a relocation support of up to £5k.
For more information on this role or if you would like to apply then please contact Juliep@brightleaf.co.uk or give me a call on 01422 433900.
